TC 3-20-40, Chapter 3-30 states that, "All targets must be 90-percent visible from the firing position." This new target is designed specifically for that purpose and demonstrates it with distinct markings on either side of the target. 

The target is designed specifically with a four minute of angle diamond that radiates outward for 100m, 200m, and 300m. This allows trainers to quickly mark the target for confirmation at distance exercises. This directly supports the new Table IV, Basic, for Rifles and Carbines in TC-3-20.40, and replicates the 4 MOA aiming point on the Army-standard zero target.
